The longstanding oral tradition of the indigenous peoples of the North is at the root of our project. Historically however, the written word is the measure by which a culture is mapped and understood. We seek to provide a venue for these voices to be heard.

Northern peoples remain endangered in our evolving political and atmospheric climates as well. In the course of growing concerns over newly accessible shipping lanes, mineral extraction and tourism, it is the people of the North who remain unaddressed.

Our publications serve to address these issues through all the available resources of literature, science and the arts.

The IPI Press was developed in 2007.
